As part of our ongoing commitment to workplace safety, Kirby Southeast Asia recently conducted its second Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Training, strengthening employees’ knowledge, awareness, and readiness to respond to fire emergencies.
Why Fire Safety Training Matters
A fire emergency can happen unexpectedly, and the first few moments can be critical. While prevention remains the first line of defense, employees also need to understand how to react quickly and appropriately when an incident occurs.
Effective fire safety training helps employees:

- Identify emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly areas.
- Know how to respond when a fire alarm is activated.

The training provided employees with both essential knowledge and practical guidance on responding to fire emergencies.
Participants learned about fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and the proper steps to take when a fire occurs. The session also emphasized the importance of remaining calm, following established procedures, and prioritizing personal safety during an emergency.
Practical learning is especially valuable because emergency preparedness is not only about knowing the theory. Employees need to be familiar with the actions they may need to take in real situations.
Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, employees had the opportunity to better understand how firefighting equipment can be used and how coordinated action can support a safer emergency response.
